Well, sometimes we miss things here and there (we wish we didnt but keeping on top of things can be hectic sometimes!), and we almost missed this, however courtesy of Vextas mailing list we just found out about this cool little group show that opened last Thursday up in Queensland, with a really cool lineup to it and a bit of an exploration by the gallery into the whole street art movement.
“Street Art (not to be confused with Graffiti) has become recognised by institutions as a current movement in Australian art. Unleashed: The Rise of Australian Street Art, will look at the work of street artists currently moving from the street to gallery environ alongside the work of other artists currently producing work in response to this movement.
The exhibition will challenge perceptions of street art and include a variety of art forms including installation, sculpture, video, textiles and two-dimensional works.”
Looks great, so if you’re around Moreton Bay at any stage between now and the 16th of April, get down there.
