Exhibition & Event – Ladie Killerz #4 – VIC

This weekend Footscray hosts the massive event Ladie Killerz #4, and what an event it looks set to be. We caught up on all the details and got a few words from one of the organisers, Joske, and have put together a small run down on the event.

“Ladie Killerz is a weekend long, travelling festival,” Joske remarked. “We’ll be celebrating ladies and their killer skills in all things art, music and film and we’ll be showcasing woman in hiphop, and in particular graffiti. Confirmed aerosol artists currently number at around twenty five, with ladies travelling from; Perth, Sydney, Brisbane, and Adelaide – and many more female artists are submitting work into the art exhibition.”

“We started this jam so we could just hang, paint and party with our interstate crew – shit just got outta control”

Since starting four years ago, out of Brisbane, this unique and diversified event has been taken to Adelaide and now Melbourne, evolving into a three day long jam packed awesome festival. Showing off the massive talent of Australian female artists within a range of disciplines but with quite a focus on some outstanding graffiti art.
This will be brought in the form of the Graffiti Paint Jam – A Graffiti Production Wall Mural collaboration, from some of Australia’s most epic female graffers – which will be worked on throughout the festival.

Friday is opening night, kicking off with an art exhibition and sale at the One Five Faction.  There are over 65+ pieces on display, by artists as diverse as: Skies, ZBD, Spice, ISIS, Kate Geck, Aida Sabic, Carla Yamine, Casey Jenkins, POISE, Rachee Renee, SEARious Jones, Jacqueline Gwynne, Claire Lawang, Bonita Gillard, IGASM, ISHK, Laura Chong, Lady Bananas, Nicole Tattersall, TIKVA, Toots Mcgee, Naomi Waller, Doodle, 23rd Key, Heather Peters, Megan Dell, Kara Gower, Caroline Ierodiaconou, and Kaitlin Beckett!!

Saturday the festival holds the workshop programs from Ladie Poise (WA) and Ishk (SA), market stalls, block party, and the start of
the graffiti production mural featuring: Dolce, Fleur, Hiden, Igasm, Inkl, Ishk, Joske, Lady Bananas, Meows, Nicole Tattersall, Philthy, Pixie, Poise, Ratsko, Sear, Skies, Sup, Tikva and more!

Sunday is the last day of the festival and will be purely for BBQ, Beers and the finishing of the Graffiti Jam Production Wall!

With a huge range of activities spread out over the entire three days, there is an indulgence for any passion or persuasion of art, music, film, culture and graffiti.

These ladies are as hardcore as they are talented, we should never fear the Graff will always be there.  Even if the world ran out of paint forever ”we would start fires, crush charcoal and use spit!” Joske responded.
