It’s been a while since Ears hit Melbourne last, but he’s back with a new body of work that is sure to get his fans, old and new, excited as hell.
“With this new body of work Ears is encompassing the idea of being isolated by confusion. At a crossroads with a groggy double view of the world and too many paths to take, we sit still in an empty room, unattached and somewhat troubled.
With a range of double exposed, warped portraits, layered lines and fields of flat colour, the work vibrates and shifts forming a view of the internal position. Head space is the crossroads that leaves a person frozen in transit.”
Ears is one of those artists whose work both unsettles and uplifts, his unique portraiture is distinctive and stylised, with an often dualistic nature. Looks to be yet another amazing show from the brilliant curatorial team at No Vacancy.
