That man with the beautifully patterned plan, Phibs, has another solo show coming up in Melbourne next month, with “Eloquently Ineffable” As always from this superbly creative artist, it promises to be another grand showcase of his latest work.
“The ‘ineffable’ refers to that which cannot be spoken – put into words, or described. For Phibs, explaining work is unnecessary. When the artist specifies meanings, already interpreting for the viewer, their experiences and responses are limited. Essentially, each work should be left to create its own meaning in our minds. The process of painting is never entirely thought out; rather, it is a journey of discovery for both the artist and the viewer alike.”
