This one we got all excited about when we saw a preview of the flyer a week or two ago, as its been a little bit since TwoOnes last show. We’ll shamelessly admit that he is totally up there in our books, and we’ve been enamoured of his work for a long time – which was cinched by a visit to his studio that we did a feature about last year. Thus, news of any of his shows is always highly anticipated here at Invurt!
“TWOONE is always interested in what more he can find within his own imagination, which is why he tends not to stick with one style or motif. There are a lot of feelings, expressions and interests he explores, with a need to let them out as they come, for fear that they will fade – like an amazing dream that is so easily forgotten.
Where once he created images only from his imagination, he now has a great interest in creating work from what is real, and what is around him everyday. TwoOne has always liked the idea of using these things as materials, but until now wasn’t bold enough to simply paint them. TwoOnes new works show a deviation from his known style, colour and content, which sees him enter an exciting new chapter.”
Sweet.
