We had some cool stuff in our mailbox this morning, not least of which is news of this great show coming up in Adelaide in early July.
Two rad-creative grlz, Kara Gillett and Nish Cash, will be getting some of their amazing work up on the walls of The Deli, on George Street – and it looks like it’ll be fantastic!
“Kara Gillett‘s works are heavily influenced by comic books & pop art sensibilities. Her acrylics explore the underlying spirit of the modern superhero in the form of SpaceGirl.
Feminine strength & capability is integral to the characters she designs and paints.
A pronounced use of colour creates a striking contrast to the minimalist backdrops. Kara’s attention to detail and clean, crisp, anime inspired lines, gives the impression that this SpaceGirl really can do anything.
Nish Cash is one of Australia’s leading female graffiti artists who’s work has graced many walls with her organic and fluid styles. Her letter form is original with characters reflective of her many alter egos.
With a background on the streets, her work is now creeping into galleries. From workshops coordinator, curator, project facilitator – Nish is consumed with her passion of painting using aerosol to project all her visions.”
