Event – SAW Winter Wander – Newcastle

Fancy a wander through the burgeoning art laden streets of Newcastle, with accompanied talks by artists who have done work in the city? Well, heres your chance.

Through the wonderful efforts of the people at SAW (Street Art Walking) and the amazing Renew Newcastle movement, residents and visitors will have the opportunity this coming Friday to do just that, with the Winter Wander event. It looks like a lot of fun, and informative to boot.

“Your invitation to rug up and get toasty walking the city streets together: be the first to hear about the latest Renew Newcastle projects, and discover a little more about the creative culture which is enlivening the city.

It’s free, everyone’s invited and tasty warming winter treats (ie. hot chocolate, mulled wine, sticky date pudding, birthday cake & more) are on offer along the way!”

The tour will include:

  • New project preview at The Woods gallery & studio
Street Art Walking hot chocolates & artist talks by Ben Foster & Tez. 5.45pm-6.30pm
  • Make Space serving mulled wine & apple pie & beginners knitting tips at the Warm Fuzzy crochet club from 5pm
  • Celebrate ARThive’s 2nd Birthday as an artist-run gallery with cake, fizzy drink, music by Tailings & The Mermaids. And your last chance to catch Eddie Botha’s Teasing the Taught exhibition. from 6pm
  • Odditorium – Dearly Beloved dead things dress-ups & polaroid portraits, music by Kira Puru & Geordie Malone, and Objet Trouvees by Naomi Saunders. from 6pm
  • Tipsy Orchestra eco-eccentric fashion studio commits Cold Murder opening an exhibition by Colleen Hoad, with music by Tommy 9 Fingers. from 6pm
  • … and we’ll be kept warm along the way with fire by L!vesites Winter Heat
