Exhibition – Known/Unknown – The Paper Mill – Sydney

Most reputable artists might tell you [when prompted], that the most critical and underlining feature of  “great art”, is in its ability to concisely and effectively convey a message to its viewer, or the wider public. So, when we stumbled across the Paper Mill’s upcoming exhibition “Known/Unknown”, we found ourselves asking: what exactly is so important about this message? And, why is it so critical that we are all “in the know”

“There are known known’s;
There are things that we know that we know.
There are known unknowns;
that is to say, there are things that we now know we don’t know.
But there are also unknown unknowns;
there are things we do not know we don’t know.”

This unique event focuses on the individual –within space and in relation to objects – creating links between the physical and the intangible. Exploring the role of paper in traditional design methods, six artists have employed various artistic disciplines, in an attempt to interpret the science and logic behind the “chaos of the unknown.”

A captivating and perceptual exhibition, presenting us with a unique and memorable opportunity to experiment with our own ideas on the importance and relevance of “knowing” – this is sure to be a great event.
