Calling all mugs to have a go…
… at attending the well anticipated exhibition ‘Have a Go Ya Mug’ – new works by Invurt buddies, Junky Projects and Presto at their kick-arse new space Cocoa Jackson Gallery, in the ubercool art precinct of Brunswick – tonight!
Junky Projects is a one man street art crusade. A Junky Army! “Ever growing, swelling, weaving their way into the fabric of this city and its occupants psyche. they have each been assigned posts to act as a constant reminder to all who pass by, that your garbage from the past may one day chase you, haunt you wherever you turn. One may mistake them to be cute, however each one has its own sinister plans already set in motion.” – The words of Junky.
Presto, the established Sydney, and now Melbourne based artist, and resident DJ, whose graff freshness, super slick style and artistic originality is second to none, will also have work on display. If you haven’t seen the mans styles yet, now is the chance – and you’ll lament why you hadn’t seen it before.
Named for the West Indian Boxer, who adopted Brunswick as his home and who was named, affectionately, ‘Cocoa Jackson’ this massive two story warehouse art space and gallery is really something to marvel at. Having been to the new space myself, just stepping into the commodious ‘ruby cube’ Zion, one is struck with an instantaneous creative charge and‘light-bulb-above-head’ feeling that things are really going to happen here!
Come celebrate the Gallery’s grand opening, and let the alchemy of the place and the art in the space find and keep you … rockin!
