What's Good!

Exhibition – Eveline Tarunadjaja – Threads – VIC

Exhibition – Eveline Tarunadjaja – Threads – VIC

Pretty little things can brighten up even the dullest of days, but when the spring time shines, the light from this artist will beam even brighter.

Eveline Tarunadjaja, who we interviewed a little while back for Go Go Gocco Go in September, was born and raised in Indonesia, but has called  Melbourne home for many years, and this is where she brings her next solo exhibition ‘Threads’.

This November, at No Vacancy Gallery, Eveline will be “Brushing away the little white speckles of Dandruff from last year’s show”, ‘Threads’ presents a new body of work based on the characters from a self written story. Toying with the nature of the human psyche, innocence and child’s play, Eveline’s characteristically delicate and detailed illustrations are woven together with strands of a dark yet playful style of storytelling.

Eveline’s artwork evolved from a procrastinating hobby to a passionate love affair with sugar-coated loneliness and mischievous imagery. Now recognised by the intricate detail of cascading hair she illustrates, Eveline’s delicate style is forever evolving, and will surely drive her mad one day.”

The intricate works in all Eveline’s collections are painstakingly created, and breathtaking in result – but a passion like hers makes the task seem simple. The energy from within each piece streams out and covers us with a warmth, stylistic and childlike glitter, that doesn’t let up – and nor would we want it to.

Eveline has beautiful way of capturing innocence and affluence, the pretty and the proper, as well as a quirky world of cool where illustration is alive and wild!
So adorn yourself in the threads of the artist, and your day will be one better for the experience.
Get to this exhibition and walk out with a new style, and maybe even a new story to tell!
