When we interviewed him last year, Ryan McGennisken had mentioned that he was working on a solo show – and now the time has come around!

We’ve been enamoured of Ryans playful illustrations for a while now, and his work has been popping up for the past few yearsin group shows across Melbourne with some frequency . His folkish and fantastical characters tap into a world of various different influences, and his style is quite recognisable.

Ryan is also going back to his roots with this show, with the exhibition being held out at Latrobe Gallery in Morwell, quite close to where he grew up and began drawing – a fitting location. This is a great chance see a solo show from a dynamic illustrator, and well worth the effort to head out and see it!
