What's Good!

Exhibition – Donker Collective – Melbourne

The Donker Collective has been working quietly behind the scenes for a couple of months now, and they will be launching their first show in Williamstown this Friday night.

“The Donker Collective has been in their studio for almost 2 months now. We’ve been working a lot, so we think it’s time to show our paintings to the public.

We’re having an exhibition in our studio in Williamstown on Friday the 13th of April. The opening of the exhibition will start at 4:00pm and end at around 10:00pm. Thats not all … Since we like to party as well, at 10pm we’ll start a party. We’ll have DJ’s playing the decks all night long and have a party only the Dutch can throw!”

That Dutch reference there is pretty interesting – and it seems, after a little googling, that Donker actually translates to “Dark”. Checking out their website, we then discovered that the collective is actually three Dutch artists and another friend.

“At the moment we’re in Australia where we fell in love with the city Melbourne. We decided to stay here for a while and rented an amazing studio in Williamstown.”

Nice – the fact that the show itself and the collective is based in Williamstown is also bonus – such a great spot!!
