Well, it’s that time again, and the crew at Secret Walls are starting prep for one of the ultimate live art smackdowns. Yes, you read right – Secret Walls – they’ve had a bit of a small name change recently!

So, in line with actually needing some artists to battle it out, we got an email from the Secret Walls crew earlier today with details on how to apply for the competition itself.

This, artists, is your chance to be a part of it all!

“Secret Walls took Melbourne by storm in 2011 and plans are well under way for the next Melbourne series, commencing in May 2012, tois showcase amazing artistic talent. Secret Walls  a character based, black and white battle and is set in front of 400+ people.

If you think you can mix it live on the Secret Walls stage then get in touch. You will need to send us an email which includes 5 images, a brief bio & have ‘Secret Walls Melbourne Artists Call out’ in the heading.

RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE COMPETITION

On the night –

• 90 minutes on the battle clock
• Only black markers and black acrylic paint can be used to paint
• No pencils/sketches should be on stage or used (loose rule)
• Each artist has to stay within the allocated space
• Battles are judged by 2 nominated and neutral guest judges + crowd vote

The judges each award a single vote to the artist of their choice. The third vote is the CROWD vote with the use of a decibel reader to make it all official. The artist with the most votes wins.
