Well, all we can say is that this is a pretty exciting event! Michael Staniak is well known to us, and we love his work – to see him exhibiting alongside his father, who will be showing his work for the first time in Australia, is really something special.
“We are proud to present a unique addition to the Paradise Hills calendar next month with the opening of a father/son combination show by Paradise Hills studio artist Michael Staniak and his father Gregory Staniak. It has been a long time in the making for Gregory, as after leaving Poland in 1981, and attending art and design school, he has not shown any work since moving to Australia in 1982. So, 30 years and Gregory’s work has finally made it to the gallery walls again. And we at Paradise Hills are as excited as we can be for this one.
Michael has had early success since finishing his Masters of Fine Arts at the Victorian College of the Arts in 2011, with solo shows at Nellie Castan Gallery in Melbourne and Artereal Gallery in Sydney, as well as just been selected to the Metro Award final for the second time. Make sure you keep August 3rd free as this opening will also feature two great bands, JK Ruff and Rain Party, and a possible surprise guest. All this during the biggest time of the year in art wise in Melbourne with the Melbourne Art Fair running on the same weekend. It will be a huge night so make sure you come down!”
We so can’t wait for this, it’s going to be a damn fine night down at the ‘Hills.
