Our good mate Unwell Bunny is back this weekend with a cool show over at United Cans new location down in Windsor (we’ll have more for you on that later!).
Over the past year or so, Unwell Bunny did a fair bit of travelling, and this exhibition delves into his blackbook for a few glimpses of the inspiration behind his larger scale works up on the walls.
The thing that I like about these shows, is that you get to see pieces of work that you wouldnt normally get to see – rough ideas and pieces usually hidden away thrown into the light in all their cool, and sometimes, those rough diamonds are gems.
“Small black book based and inspired works from Europe & Australia from Melbourne based UNWELL BUNNY.
‘While travelling and painting last year, I kept a black book of illustrations which were inspired by each city we went to, these drawings produced paintings and were small snap shots of each placed stayed in and sprayed. These works are rescued and inspired by these visual records.
Small ideas, that lead to bigger ideas, many disorganised, with the occasional few works of tiny genius … These are the days of our sharpies and these sharpies are the days of our lives.'”
Check out a piece that Unwell bunny did with United Cans Libre as a bit of a preview above – theres also a video here on Facebook (unfortunately there is no embed code!).
Looking forward to this one!!
