Well, we missed last weeks opening of Mr Penfolds show up in Brisbane, but the good news is that he has another show coming up in Melbourne this week down at Just Another Project Space in Prahran!

Touring from Brisbane to Melbourne over 2014 ‘Part Time Technophobe’ delves deeper into Penfolds obsession with hand painted artwork that looks like it could have come out of printer. Growing up in the rise of the digital age Penfold has always had a love/hate relationship with computers. Being given a crack copy of Adobe illustrator some 9 years ago he taught himself to use the program but very quickly started to realise that what he was creating wasn’t real. It was at this point he decided to try and make paintings that look like they could have been made by a program.

For ‘Part Time Technophobe’ Penfold has produced a body of work that has pushed his robot skills to the limit.”

We didnt get a chance to see Mr Penfolds exhibition up in Sydney a year or so ago, so its great that he’ll be heading down this way to show some of his work – he’ll also be speaking at the Analogue/Digital event in Melbourne later this week. Head down to Prahran this Thursday night and check it out for yourselves!
