We are extremely proud to bring this show to you. Working along side Kid Silk, Invurt’s David Russell and Luke McManus have put together a selection of some of Melbourne’s finest for the next episode of Seasons of Change at Revolver – Names of the Game. With writers and artists from all styles and spectrums this line up is sure to produce some awesome work!As well as a unique piece from each artist, there will also be a limited edition print available (thanks Dangerfork). We’ve also invited Nicole Reed to do the poster wall, one of Melbourne’s most renowned photographers; it totally made sense she should do the wall for this show, we’re looking forward to see what she comes up with, as her photos are always super awes!
It’s definitely an honour to have been asked to be involved with Seasons of Change. SOC has been one of my favourite long running exhibitions, showcasing different parts of Melbourne’s graffiti scene and giving people the opportunity to purchase (always at an affordable price) art from writers and artists that otherwise would not be on sale or at other exhibitions.
From the Press Release: “For the Winter Season of Change event we thought we would shake up the format a little and pass creative control over to a couple of people who work hard behind the scenes of the Melbourne graff and street art scene. Dave Russell is well known for his tireless photo documentation of graff and street art, as well as his role in Melbourne street art tours, and Luke McManus is co-editor for Invurt and a regular contributor to international blog Vandalog, and president of Hosier Inc.Together they have helped organise and facilitate the production of several significant large-scale projects, including the recently completed Asylum Seekers Resource Centre production in Footscray. Both are also prominent members and contributors to the Invurt blog.
Together with the help of co-curator Kid Silk, ‘Names of The Game’, showcases some of their favourite Melbourne artists, with new works, a production on the graff wall, and a poster-wall installation.“
