In 2012 she got notoriety for her stickers around the streets of Singapore and became known as “The Sticker Lady” by the mainstream media – a name she does not like.
Her stickers featured anecdotes of daily Singaporean life in Singlish and also the image of the late Mr Lee Kuan Yew, founding father of modern Singapore. Since then SKLO/ Sam Lo has come a long way. SKLO has since been featured in numerous exhibitions and galleries, participated in giving workshops and talks to the public as well as traveling overseas to paint the world.
The LIMPEH Show “is a tribute to Mr. Lee Kuan Yew’s legacy, a form of remembrance of his life, and serves as a documentation of the public’s perception for him. This will be the final chapter of the ‘Sticker Lady’ Saga, signalling a new beginning for the artist”.
So head down to the substation and check out her first solo exhibition.
