The crew at Juddy Roller have once again put together a fantastic lineup of artists for their second round of the Wall to Wall festival out in Benalla. Last year was a huge success, and they smashed a whole bunch of walls in the town with some phenomenal artwork, something completely unique and cool out in rural Victoria. Now they’re going to add a whole bunch more this weekend, and its only a matter of time before the whole town is covered in beautiful paint! Read on for all the details!
“On 18 to 20 of March, the idyllic town of Benalla will once again come to life with the sounds of scissor lifts and the smell of paint as the annual Wall to Wall Festival once again transforms the face of the Victorian regional town.
Featuring an all star line up of 7 male and 7 female street artists, another 14 amazing murals will be created, bringing the total number of murals up to 28, making Benalla a must see destinations for public art enthusiasts from all over Australia.
This year’s festival offers a myriad of ways the public can get “hands on” at Wall to Wall 2016. Opportunities for people to get involved include the first ever Benalla Mural Art Prize with the winner receiving a $500 cash prize and the opportunity to be an official artist at Wall to Wall, an oversized “paint by numbers” mural that can be completed by anyone that’s confident enough to pick up a brush, youth stencil workshops at the Benalla Skate Park, skate demos and artists talks at the Benalla Art Gallery featuring four Wall to Wall Festival artists. There’ll also be a festival hub for those that wantto enjoy a relaxing day in the sun listening to the best live music Benallahas to offer.
The Wall to Wall 2016 line-up includes some true street art heavyweights including the internationally acclaimed photo realist painter Smug, Wall to Wall 2015 favourite Adnate, one of Australia’s most well regarded and high profile female street artist Kaff-eine and the extremely talented French artist Lucy Lucy, and the artist now famous for creating the Brim Art Silo, Guido Van Helten.”
