Oh yay! I love Lucy Lucys stuff, and I havnt been to a show of hers in ages – I just saw this yesterday and couldn’t be more excited about seeing it all. from her work on walls around our city to all of her stuff on canvas, this one looks to be pretty amazing!!
“The exhibition PRESENCE explores the notion of individuals being present and truly connecting with one another.
The body of work seeks to reflect our ability to be here, now and real. The portraits capture human tendency to obsess about future, past or their perception of themselves. The concealing masks reflect the idea that rarely oneself is entirely present or true. The ever evolving façade of charm can subtly fool us. This veneer of charm can shift from one person to another, from place to place, hiding a person’s clear soul or real persona. The delicate filters mislead gently the inward and outward perception.
The show features a selection of paintings and laser cut bamboo filters alongside performances.”
The lazer cut stuff sounds pretty intriguing to me, cant wait to see it all – head down tomorrow night or all weekend to see it for yourselves!
