Our man Dean Sunshine was up in Sydney last week to check out Vivid Sydney – specifically, he was taking a bit of time checking out the Shepherd Fairey exhibition, Printed Matters, and mural that he was painting as a part of the event.
This was a bit of the blurb from the show:
“Iconic American artist Shepard Fairey blurs the boundaries of art and design. His unique style is instantly recognised in exhibitions and walls around the world. His body of work includes the OBEY GIANT art project, the Barak Obama HOPE campaign, and this year’s ubiquitous ‘We The People’ initiative.
For the first time in 14 years, Shepard Fairey returns to Australia to headline the Game-Changer Talks series at Vivid Sydney 2017. Shepard will be sharing his do-it-yourself approach, his career highlights, and how he managed to turn his creativity into an authentic voice about street culture.”
It looked like a really great little vent and that mural sure is big! Its a shame that he couldn’t get down to Melbourne as well this time around, whats with festivals and stuff locking in artists under exclusivity contracts anyways? but hey, whatever, maybe next time around he’ll head down to update something in Revolver, eh? haha
Check out all of Deans shots below!
