We have been on a bit of a hiatus this year, however we have been quietly working behind the scenes on a number of things – the first being the launch of our new Sojourn Project with an amazing lineup of over 60 artists from the Asian region in the Homeward Found exhibition!

Homeward Found will feature artwork from twelve different nations with artists including:

Showcasing the vibrant creativity of our immediate neighbours, the exhibition brings to Melbourne some of the finest established and emerging talent from over twelve countries. The first in a planned series of events and collaborations, titled the ‘Sojourn Project’, Homeward Found aims to strengthen ties between artists across the Australian-Asian region through collaboration, exchange and communication.”

This exhibition will be the launch of the Sojourn Project, which will feature a number of planned vents and shows over the next few years – a project that I have quietly been working on for quite some time now.

“The Sojourn Project has been formed in order to connect artists in Australia and Asia through collaboration, exchange and communication. Our aim is the forge international community bonds and promote the emerging and underground arts throughout the greater Australiasian region.

Homeward Found is curated by Melbourne artist Facter. In his role as Director and editor of Invurt, Facter has been documenting artists, events and producing art related events for the past ten years. In this time he has acted as consultant and curator for a variety of street art and graffiti related festivals and activations, as well as continually advocating the art form to the general public.

For the last five years, Facter has been living, travelling and working within Asia, where he has befriended, discovered and painted with a multitude of talented artists and creatives from a variety of disciplines.

He has formed the Sojourn project as a way of educating and exposing both the Australian and Asian public to the wealth of creativity of these artists, as well as to create collaborative projects between Australian and Asian artists.”

About Vs. Gallery

Vs. Gallery is a dynamic new art gallery + event space located in North Richmond, Melbourne, Australia.

Bringing together the works of local and international artists, in both traditional and new media, Vs. Gallery presents an engaging schedule of curated exhibitions and events.

Directed by Australian artists Ben Frost + GT Sewell, this new space boasts over 50 square meters of floor space, professional lighting, huge wall heights, off street parking/reception area and close proximity to public transport.

The gallery is part of a larger space: Vs. Studios, which has 14 artists studios working across various mediums, including painting, fashion, projection, street art and sculpture.
