International battle for artistic kudos hits Melbourne next week, with the very first heat in the second Australian Secret Wars series. This event has a world wide following, and there have been some amazing battles carried out over the series so far across several continents, and this one will be no exception.
First up off the ranks is Scale vs Bryan Itch, and with only 90 minutes on the clock, both artists use black and white paint and markers on white walls to produce the best work possible, and both pieces are then voted for both by the judges as well as a crowd vote. Theres four heats in the initial competition, including Scale, Bryan Itch, Phibs, Pierre Lloga, Ken Taylor, Deb, Drew Funk and Braddock. Over the next few months, these guys will go through the heats and the into vs rounds of semi finals, until the final all out battle between the two finalists in April next year.
Seriously fkn cool – take a look at the AU YouTube channel and you’ll see what I mean – so get there next Wednesday.
