This Friday night, September 13th down at Chaotic Gallery in Windsors “Artists Lane”, Conrad Bizjak will be holding the opening for his solo show “The Human Zoo“.
For years, Conrad Bizjak, aka Rad, has been painting across the walls of Melbourne, making a name for himself with his unique, creative and colourful works. In recent times, he has pursued a more expressionist bent, which has seen him rise even further in popularity with his peers and fans. His street art, however, is only the very tip of a colossal iceburg, and it is his studio work that is the real gem in his artistic arsenal. Now, we finally get a chance to see his creative talents flexed in a way that we haven’t before, and I couldn’t be more fkn excited about it.
“The Human Zoo is an invitation to witness an incantation of our time. These works are my view of negative perceptions of beauty; the warped, abstracted, esoteric, idiosyncratic and somewhat lost moments I feel should be thought about more and given their time to be beautiful and stand strong.
Things as simple as a perfect colour palette reflecting my simple existence; a voyeuristic composition that just has to be saved in the way I see the moment; a dark night or rainy sunlit cold afternoon – all form my view of my time on earth as I continue to evolve relevant to my mood in the time I exist.
What truer way can I respond to myself than to paint how the world makes me feel?”

Conrad Bizjak is not only one of the most capable artists that I have the privilege of knowing, but is also one of my own personal inspirations. Having had the chance to work beside him on many occasions, his enthusiasm, encouragement and creativity have all been attributes that have helped influence and drive my own work – he is, simply, one talented motherfucker who brings a lot to the table.
Honestly, I have sometimes wondered how it is that an artist can have achieved as much in reputation as Conrad has, without having held a solo exhibition. When you see his work from the past few months, however, you know immediately that although this is his first solo show, that it isn’t your normal “first show” – the work within it is as refined and boisterous as that of an artist who is in the middle of their exhibiting career – which is quite an accomplishment.
Here’s a few pics from the setup of the show as a bit of a preview for you … all the details are below …
I’ve been waiting to see this show for a very long time, and I can safely say that its going to blow us all away. See you all this Friday!
