As always, the ever going Seasons Of Change, the quarterly show at Revolver that’s been going on for the past two years, is bringing the goods from the old school to the new.
This time around, its three of my favourites, and I don’t think I’ve seen much work in shows over the last handful of years, so its an absolute pleasure to see some of Melbournes best putting up some work for their fans to buy this month!
“Revolver Upstairs in collaboration with GraffixCreative present ‘Seasons of Change’, a showcase of local and international artists at Revolver’s internal and external art spaces, featuring a semi permanent mural on an outside wall and a one night only exhibition.
Seasons of Change ‘Summer’ brings to you three of Melbourne’s most prolific and pioneering graffiti artists: STOPEM, DUKE & MARINE:
STOPEM’s traditional style lettering and colour combinations have graced the walls of our city consistently for almost 25 years. He has exhibited works in numerous group exhibitions, as well as several mural projects throughout Melbourne’s CBD.
Since starting his career in the city’s west in the early 80s, DUKE is famous for funky characters blazing the lines from the early 90s through to his current ‘sketch style’ pieces, using mediums including airbrushing, aerosol art and fine art.
MARINE specialises in razor sharp lettering as well as fresh characters and stylish detailed pieces using various techniques from aerosol art and stencil art to graphic design and fine art. He has worked on many mural projects and exhibitions in Australia and Canada, including the meeting of styles in Toronto and the Melbourne Underground event in Australia.”
Head down to Revolver this Friday night to see it all for yourselves, and to pick up some mad artwork by this awesome trio.
