The Seasons of Change series has always been one of our favourite series of shows, way back since we started covering it in 2011 – and the curators of it all have diligently presented some of Melbourne’s finest artists over the years. Now they’re taking a step back and handing over the reigns, with SoC continuing under new curators next year – but before they take their leave, they’ll be throwing a huge show with all the artists from the past four years, and it sounds awesome.

“Brought to you by Revolver Upstairs in conjunction with GraffixCreative for just shy of five years ‘Seasons of Change’ has been showcasing local and international artists at Revolver internal and external art spaces. The elements of each event is dictated by the event’s artists, however all will feature a large scale mural on outside wall lasting for three months and a one night only exhibition. Limited edition commemorative prints will also be produced for each exhibition. Following the event prints will then be available for sale on the DangerFork online store (if not sold out).

A special message from the curators…

In 2011 we were approached to run a regular event at Revolver. The Seasons of Change concept is held on the first Friday of the change of the Autumn, Winter, Spring and summer seasons. The aim is to give artists the opportunity to show their work with no cost and promote them to a wider audience whilst continuing Revolver Upstairs longstanding history as a creative space.

Over the years we have had some epic shows with huge turnouts and great sales. We really want to thank everyone who has supported us by showing work, buying art or just turning up and having a few beers!

We have decided that this will be our last show curating the event as work/life and travel commitments have made it hard to devote the time needed to run it properly.

The shows will continue to run every three months without us, and we are sure they will be just as successful.

For our last event we are having a massive group show. We have invited all the 60+ artists who have shown with us in the past plus a few extra special guests. Hope you can join us on Friday the 4th of December 2015 for what looks to be an epic night!

The summer 2015 show will feature original works from over 60 artists and as always the release of a limited edition screen print. This is not the end of Seasons of Change! 2016 and on will see new shows with a new team of creators working with Revolver Upstairs.

Seasons of Change has been such an great run of shows over these last few years, and it’s great to hear that it’ll be continuing along – I’m sure the new curators will do a bang up job. That said, Jimmy and Carmen have done an amazing job over the last few years at putting it all together and creating something really special, and my hat is off to all of their efforts and dedication to it – thanks dudes for such a great run and all your hard work.

So head down this Friday to see a huge offering of artists and works, it’s going to be massively cool – and we’re looking forward to all the shows next year, and the years to come!
