This Friday don’t forget to get along to Lanes End Gallery guys and support one of Melbourne’s newest creative spaces, showcasing two very different talented artists.

Pink & Teal, Ink & Glue
With this show Astrotwitch and Be Free continue their experiment in collaboration, and mixing their different creative styles. Now that they are in their home city expect the collaboration to include more production and more new experiments. Come out to see how these two artists, both heavily influenced by street art practices, blend together to create something fun and colorful.

Be Free:
Be Free is a Melbourne artist who has been putting art out on the street for 6 years. A central part of their art is the freedom associated with nighttime missions. This often comes through collaborations with more graffiti writers blending character based street art with text based graffiti. The little girl that keeps popping up is a fun filled character who runs around watering plants, scribbling on walls and makes mess with paint. Be Free has participated in a number of exhibitions (including the recent group show along side C215 and Blek le Rat, among others).

Astrotwitch:
Astrotwitch is an artist, currently living in Melbourne, Australia. She paints colorful, stylized paintings of people. Astrotwitch is interested in increasing representation of queer and transgender people in city streets, and therefore the agency associated with installing uncommissioned street art is an important aspect of her art practice. Astro has been featured and reviewed in a number of publications including a new book “Street Art Australia”, Vandolog.com, the Washington Post, Queer Porn Film Festival, Mx Magazine, Yarracity Arts. Her art is included in the Australian Lesbian and Gay Archives.
