19Karen are fantastic. With a whole bunch of shows focusing on urban and street art in the past few months, they keep coming out swinging, and this next show they’ll be playing host to one of the best – Deb.

“Deb is on the forefront of Australian street art with her murals spread across the globe. Currently based between Melbourne and Sydney she is an extremely pro-active artist with constant projects on the go. She was recently nominated for Cosmopolitan’s ‘Fun Fearless Female’ award and is involved in ‘Project 5 Live Art’ at Cockle Bay, Sydney. Deb has also exhibited throughout Australia and internationally in solo and group shows as well as engaged in public art programs and workshops. She has completed a Diploma in graphic design and a certificate in book illustration and is currently learning the art of
airbrushing and tattooing.

This exhibition follows a few different points of my interests. Overall it is the exploration of dreams, being humorous, good or bad, as well as the fascination of humans and different creatures living in a parallel universe. In some of the works there is also a very strong reference to sad emotions felt toward the killing and commercialization of endangered species. Without the audience knowing the entire motivation behind each piece of work, the viewer is then left to interpret the art with an open opinion, which creates a trail of mystery. Each piece will have a personal meaning to each different individual.”
