Love it. Most people in Melbourne who are avid “creatificionados” have been to 1000 £ Bend. Whether its to travel up the stairs to the new and awesome Rancho Notorious, to go to a launch event for the many independent mags or collectives that have utilised it, went to last years Sweet Streets festival, or just chilled out in the outside “cage” with a ciggy and cider, or had some of their lush food or drinks – phew, well, you know – its that kind of rad place.

What you might not realise, however, is that all the wonderful people that work at the venue, putting on events, serving you coffee, cooking up grand food and snacks and generally making it that epitome of a rad ‘burn place to go, are, themselves, a massively creative bunch.

Stepping out from behind the desks and counters, and putting down the working mantle, the crew from 1000 Pound Bend are having their own show, Behind The Desk, which will “feature a collection of art including illustration, printmaking, film, typography and mixed media.”

So get down there, enjoy the night, and show the hard working team from 1000 £ Bend some love, and support, in their grand plan to break out of that most wearisome grind …
