Exhibition – Stormie Mills – Dirty Dozen – Sydney

Once again Stomie Mills will dazzle us with yet another chapter in his travelling circus of what some have described as “unachievable creations”. Having visited Melbourne recently, his eclectic presentation of psychological processes created by using ”Scuffling” – a “process of applying paint to canvas a cross between a shuffle and a scrape; a subtlety of movement; a sense of motion”, up next Stormie presents his works though the mediums of dust, dirt, acrylics and aerosol.

“Artist Stormie Mills’s new exhibit at Friends of Leon Gallery uses what many artists would consider unusable material as the tools with which he paints. “Dirty Dozen” is an exhibit featuring characters painted from a mixture of dust, dirt and spray paint.

With spray paint, what doesn’t stick to the canvas falls to the floor to mix with the dust and the dirt. I used this mix with an  acrylic paint to make these. It shows how most things in life can me made use of in another way, shape or form, but the human condition is such that it seems to often get stuck in mental limbo.”

If you Sydney siders were intrigued by our recent articles regarding Stormie’s up and coming Melbourne show don’t disappoint yourself, be there or be square!
